02.2010   Acceptance of a laser micromachining system

GFH GmbH is accepted as the supplier of a 5-axes laser micromachining system in the tender of the Photonikzentrum Kaiserslautern (PZKL). The PZKL was established end of 2009 as a centre of excellence and application for modern laser technology and nonlinear optics with an initial funding of 2,6 Mio. €. With this financial backup, the competencies of the federal state Rheinland-Pfalz shall be strengthened in the areas of laser micromachining, laser technology, nonlinear optics and optical materials which are key technologies to the local SMEs.
With an elaborate European call for tender the sourcing of the laser system for micro machining was organised. Amongst 4 competitors GFH was successful in the bid for which the quotes were compared with an emphasis on the price (40%), the technical specifications (25%), the flexibility (10%), the potential for an upgrade (10%), the ease of use (10%) and the maintenance costs incurred (5%).
The GFH congratulates the PZKL to its new foundation and wishes great success in the upcoming challenges in the research.
